We have several policies regarding adoption, which our staff is trained to explain. Some of our policies are quite strict for the sake of the animals and we do reserve the right to refuse any adoption if such action is in the best interest of the animal.

We have provided an online adoption application for your convenience.

Things to consider when you’re thinking of adopting a companion animal:

1. Think about your lifestyle, and which type of animal makes the most sense for you.

2. Visit our kennels and choose the animal that you would like to adopt. Our adoption counselor will help answer any questions you might have.

3. We use our adoption application and interview process along with a home visit to ensure that each animal adopted will be matched with the most compatible new owner.

4. Please be aware that the adoption application takes at least one day to process.

5. Congratulations! You are now the proud owner of a new pet!
Since most shelter animals have unknown medical backgrounds, you must be prepared to take your adopted pet to a local, licensed veterinarian within 3 working days for a complete physical examination and any necessary medical treatment, and you will be financially responsible for all medical treatment now and for the life of your pet.

We are looking for permanent, responsible homes for the animals leaving our shelter. Every year millions of animals are surrendered to animal shelters because owners allow them to breed indiscriminately or decide they no longer want the responsibility of caring for a pet. Dogs and cats are not disposable objects. We realize that owning a pet is a lifetime commitment. It is our hope that prospective owners are aware of this also. Therefore, our policies are strict for the sake of our animals.

Adoption Rates:
Dogs/Puppies $100.00
Cats/Kittens $ 50.00
Why Does The Animal Welfare League Require You To Spay/Neuter Your New Pet?
Without spaying and neutering, litters of puppies are brought to the animal shelter.
Without spaying and neutering, litters of puppies are brought to the animal shelter.

1. Spaying/Neutering helps dogs and cats life longer, healthier lives—In females it eliminates the possibility of uterine or ovarian cancer and greatly reduces the incidence of breast cancer. In males it eliminates testicular cancer and decreases the incidence of prostate disease.

2. Spaying/Neutering makes pet’s better, more affectionate companions.

3. Neutering cats makes them less likely to spray and mark territory.

4. Unsterilized animals often exhibit more behavior and temperament problems than do those who have been spayed/neutered.

5. Neutering makes pets less likely to roam, run away, or get into fights.

6. Communities spend millions of dollars to control unwanted animals.

7. Every dog or cat who dies as a result of pet over population—whether humanely in a shelter or by injury, disease, or neglect—is an animal who, more often than not, would have made a wonderful companion if given the chance. This can be solved if each of us would take just one small step—not allowing our animals to breed.
