This Interfaith Blessing of the Animals is free to the public and their pets. Seniors, families, singles, and children, are encouraged to bring their dogs, cats, birds, lizards, rabbits, fish, and turtles and other well-behaved pets. After brief words from Rev. Todd Kleffman of St. John’s Episcopal Church, the menagerie of participants will have the opportunity to line up single-file to be blessed. This custom is conducted in remembrance of St. Francis of Assisi’s love for all creatures.

Before you buy your Christmas cards this year remember the Animal Welfare League! Every year the shelter sells cards with the proceeds benefiting the shelter. We're asking individuals that have adopted an animal from a shelter (not necessarily our shelter) or rescue group to take a picture and email it to us with a short paragraph explaining the animal’s story. We thought this would be a great way to highlight shelter animals that have found a happy & permanant home. Cards can be purchased in November - it will be advertised in the paper and on the radio. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to call the shelter at 362-8846.

Crawfordsville Parks and Recreation Department’s 6th Annual pool party for dogs! That’s right a pool party, just for your dog. Owners can bring their dogs for a dip in the pool before it's drained! Come and join the fun - Proceeds benefit the Animal Welfare League

The AWL's 2008 Stroll for Strays that was held on Sunday, May 4th turned out to be our most successfull event! Between the great weather, prizes, and all of the people and dogs that attended it couldn't have been better! The Animal Welfare League Board of Directors, Staff and Volunteers thank everyone that participated to help make the event great fun!
