A BUSY YEAR!
The animal shelter is constantly overrun with puppies! Litter after litter are continually brought to the shelter or born here. As cute as they are, they’re very difficult to care for. Keeping them comfortable, healthy and sociable is a full time job!
The picture is one of our larger litters. We’re thrilled to have just adopted the last one! Carolina was the last of the litter and she went to a lovely family out-of-state. They emailed the staff and said they couldn’t be happier with her.
As you look at this litter you understand the importance of spaying and neutering. Finding appropriate homes for an endless number of puppies is a big responsibility and very difficult when you already have a shelter full of dogs. We appreciate the many individuals that donate their time at the shelter to walk and play with the puppies once they are fully protected by their vaccinations. It’s so important to the development of the puppies socialization and makes them much better pets!

KURANDA BEDS
Let’s just say that this picture shows how much our puppies love our Kuranda beds! As soon as we put one in the room they seem to instinctively know that they’re going to be living the good life!
Kuranda beds are hygienic, durable, chewproof and supportive dog beds. The keyword being “chewproof”. If you’d like to donate a kuranda bed to our animal shelter you can participate in the “Donade a Bed” program. The “Donate A Bed” program was created to enable pet lovers to help bring a bit of comfort to these deserving shelter animals that your pets enjoy at home. The beds are sent directly to the shelter in the donor’s name at a discount of about 30%.

THE HOLIDAY SEASON
The holiday season is always a busy time for us! Families, groups of children from schools, brownie & boy scout troops, etc. come to the shelter to visit with our animals and bring donations. We can't say how much this is appreciated by the board of directors the staff, and all of the animals at the shelter.
Thoughts turn to family during the holiday season which often leads to the possibility of adopting a companion pet. We have wonderful animals at our shelter that are waiting for a family to consider them for adoption.
If you're not in a position to adopt how about sponsoring a kennel during the holiday season? For the month of December $40 will go toward food, vaccinations and vet care for the animal in the kennel of your choice. Ask the staff at the shelter and they can help you with the arrangements!
We wish all of you a very happy holiday season and thank you for all that you do for us!
